Specioza was the first female underground driller from Capital and across all Tanzania to achieve a Certificate III in Drilling Operations from an internationally accredited training organisation in Australia.
My name is Specioza, I work for Capital Mining Services at Geita site in Tanzania as a driller. My dream came true on 1st of June 2022, when I was offered a job as a driller assistant.
I worked on different Rigs as assistant until I ended up on Rig 180 where I initially worked as an assistant while being trained to drill. I obtained a driller certificate and became a trainee driller and then a driller.
I enjoy working for this company because the management that respects, listens and attends to its worker’s concerns. Also, the team respects and is trained to promote teamwork. Above all, the company promotes safety which is our number 1 safety Golden Rule.
I recently studied and obtained a Certificate III in Drilling Operations, which is an Australian drilling certificate that is internationally recognized. It’s a great achievement which made me the first woman in Tanzania to obtain this qualification.
My aim is to get more training and achieve my goals while inspiring other woman within and without the company.
